Brownie Time!

Yesterday, we had the chance to have dinner with Gma & Gpa Brower in Tremonton since we had a few more things we needed to take care of for the rental house. We had yummy taco salads and tater tots, and for dessert, BROWNIES!! One of our favorite treats to make and eat! Gma helped Kaylee and they did a great job making the brownies!
And or course, the best part....licking the bowl!
Every time we make brownies, cake, or cookies the best part is licking the bowl, and Kaylee knows that is one of the first things we do once the batter has been poured. She already will have a spoon in her hand ready to lick the bowl clean! :)
Thanks for letting us have dinner with you gma & gpa!! We always have fun when we come to your house!!

Grandma's Birthday Celebration!

Today is our Mom's Birthday! I always thought it was so cool that she was born on April 6th because that is the day they say Jesus was born and the day the Church was organized. To celebrate, we went to Texas Roadhouse. It was her request, and of course since it is one of our favorite places to eat, we thought it was a great place to go!!! (Mainly because we knew they would make her sit on the saddle!). We met up in Ogden with Mom and Dad and Matt, Nat, and Hallie.
She thought she could avoid the "saddle" but of course, we made sure she had the chance to take it for a ride. Carson made it a little easier for her by getting on it with her!
You can see in this picture she is "Shhhh-ing" the waiter who announced not only her Birthday but her age. 57!!!!!!
Then we all gave her a Texas size "Yee-Haw"!
Kaylee wanted her turn on the saddle! We might have to go here for her birthday too next year!
And maybe even Carson's Birthday too!!!
It was a fun evening! I just wish my other siblings lived closer so they could have been there! But don't worry, I ate extra rolls just for them!!! Happy Birthday Mom!! WE LOVE YOU!!! We hope you had a great day!!!!!

Birthday Blast!

On Monday I turned 29!!! I have entered the final year of my 20's!!!! And to celebrate we went out to dinner with my family to my favorite restaurant, Texas Roadhouse, but it came with consequences. The Saddle. Yes, like singing or saying "yeehaw" isn't embarrassing enough, they drag out the saddle and make you sit on it. I was glad Carson was there to share the spotlight!

This picture is so funny. Natalie dropped some ranch on Hallie's face while eating her salad. Hallie didn't cry though until she cleaned it off!
(Carson took that one).
It was so fun to have my Mom and Dad there too!
After dinner we headed back to Matt & Nat's and had cake and ice cream. Thanks again Natalie for the cake!!! :)
I also got to open my presents. I got SO Spoiled!!! I got a cute watch from Matt & Nat, a gift card for Quilted Bear from Mom and Dad, and the best....a new Camera Lens from Nick! I was so surprised!! I had no idea he had gotten it for me and was even more impressed that he brought in the help of a neighbor to surprise me!! I also got the Glee 1 soundtrack, the book "City of Bones" and a BIG bag of M&M's from the kids! Like I said, I got spoiled!!!
I finished off my Birthday with a girls night with some friends from the ward. We had yummy chocolate cake, compliments of Jana, with homemade frosting and all!!! It was amazing!!!
It wasn't just a birthday girls night for me, it was Tiffany M's birthday the very next day. So we made it a joint celebration and it was super fun! We even had stuff for pedicures, painted toe nails and chatted the night away!!! Thanks girls for the fun, it was totally worth staying up WAY late!!
The next day, Tuesday, we picked up Nick early from work and dropped Kaylee off with Natalie in Ogden. Then we headed up Ogden Canyon and went skiing at Wolf Creek Mountain. A while ago I had realized it had been YEARS since we had been skiing and that it could be fun to teach Carson to ski, so I thought my birthday would be a great time to go!! Carson was excited and did such a good job!!! He had a smile on his face all day long and despite a few hard crashes kept getting up and going again!!!
They had a cute bunny hill with the coolest track to get back to the top. I think that was Carson's favorite part!!!
After a few runs down the bunny hill, we decided to try the big hill. Carson LOVED the big lift and once we got off he said he wanted to ride it again. I had to explain to him that we had to go down the hill first!
The first and second run down the big hill took us a bit of time but we slowly made progress and we thought we better take a hot cocoa break. Carson really liked that idea!!! So we headed into the lodge for a break.
Once we got warmed back up we headed back out to the bunny hill for some more practice.
Then we headed up the hill on the "Three Person Lift" which was fun since we could all ride together. Once Carson figured out how to keep his 'pizza' shape he was able to go without crashing every 15 feet. I would say "Pizza Stop" and he would make a BIG pizza, then I would say "Pizza Go" and he would make a small pizza and start going again. (The whole time I was skiing backwards to keep him from getting out of control). It was so much fun and I am so proud of how good Carson did!! I can't wait to take him again!
After we picked Kaylee up we ate dinner at Cafe Rio and went home and went right to bed. We were all exhausted!! I definitely had the best birthday ever!!! Thanks again for all the birthday wishes and for the fun!!! Here is to making the last year of my 20's amazing!!!

Jam Packed Weekend!

What a Wonderful and Amazing weekend we had!!! It couldn't have been better!! On Friday we picked up Nick from work and headed straight to Tremonton and had dinner before heading over to Logan to go through the temple with my little brother Chris. My sister Tiffany and her husband Aaron and a few of their kids drove in from Reno to be there. The kids love their Aunt Tiffany and she of course is so good to them!!!
After dinner we made it to Logan for the 6 O'clock session. It was such an amazing experience to go through the Temple when Chris took out his endowments. My whole family was there, my Parents, older sisters and younger brothers. All of us. What a feeling it was to stand in the celestial room at the Temple and be surrounded by your WHOLE family. I had to stand there and soak it all in. I feel so grateful to be raised by such wonderful parents and their example they showed us growing up. I am so proud of my siblings and the great examples they are for me. I don't know how often we will be able to pull that off since 2 siblings live out of state and one is now leaving on a mission, but I can't wait to do it again!!! And I can't wait for the day I can go to the temple and all of my children are there with me and Nick. Seriously, that experience ranks as part of my top 5!! After the session we grabbed a bite to eat at Panda Express (Chris's Favorite) and then Ice Cream at Coldstone! Yum!!!! Then to make the long day even longer, we drove up to Idaho Falls at 11 PM and got to Marisa's house around 1 AM. The next morning, Chris and I got up early and ran 7 miles (which was a good run, but I was tired since I didn't get a ton of sleep!). I was so glad Chris was there to run with me. It made it a lot easier!!! After I got back and took of my running gear Kaylee had to try it on. She thought she was pretty cute, and I agree with her!!!
We all went to my niece Madison's baptism at 11. It was a great program and wonderful day. I can't believe how big she is getting. I remember after Nick and I were first married watching her when she was only a few months old. And now she is getting baptized!!! She sure is getting big! While we were all together, I made everyone take some pictures.....and after a few eye rolls they agreed. You will thank me for this someday! :) We were only missing my brother Matt who headed down to southern Utah after the Temple Session to be with Natalie and Hallie.
Madison and McKenzie were so cute with Kaylee. I think it helps that their little sister Mayci is the same age!!!
Chris, Tiffany, Mom and me. We had yummy taco salad and lots of other yummy food! I could have eaten all day it was so good!
Kaylee totally enjoyed herself....doing her own thing....playing with all the kids......and just having fun!!!
With all that was going on, we were all tired, but of course the guys figured out how to take a nap in the middle of the party!
Kaylee loves her Grandpa!!! (And I am pretty sure he loves her!!)
Silly Sisters...
We made it home Saturday night, unloaded the kids and the van, and went straight to bed. We were pooped!! I was not feeling well on Sunday, so Nick took Carson to church and Kaylee and I stayed home and slept. I went to the instacare later that afternoon to see if I had strep, but the Rapid Test was negative, but they put me on antibiotics anyway since the kids had it. It went from a soar throat to a head cold, but I am slowly getting better! I think with the busy weekend my body is trying to tell me to SLOW DOWN!!! But of course, my week was just beginning!! But that is another post!!!!
