On Wednesday, we headed up to Tremonton to attend the Fair Parade! This parade is a good one as far as candy goes. By the time we were done, we had a bags of candy that we ended up putting in one BIG bag! Who needs Halloween when there's the fair parade? Other than it being a little warm, it was a super fun day! Here are a few pictures from the day:

It was fun to spend time with our family, Matt, Natalie, Hallie & Grandma! Gpa was gone fishing with the Pugmires, so we ate some extra candy just for him!
After the parade, we had yummy bbq pork sandwhiches for dinner at Gma's house. Then we headed out to the fair. I took Kaylee around to look at the animals while Nick took Carson to the rodeo. They had fun! Carson was so cute when he got home and was so excited while he told me about everything that they saw, including a bull jump over the fence and onto a few people!
After they got home from the Rodeo and Grandpa got home from fishing, we took a few minutes before bedtime and had Grandpa open his Birthday Present! A new set of grilling tools! He turned 59 on Saturday....wow that is OLD!!!
We stayed the night on Wednesday since we knew it would be a late night. So Nick headed to work with the van pool from Tremonton and the rest of us got to sleep in (only until 7:15....ugh!) and eat breakfast with Gma & Gpa! After breakfast, grandma let the kids get out some of her music instruments and play with them. It was really fun to watch them play and sing with everyone. We did that for quite awhile before we decided to head home and get back to reality!
It was a good little mid-week getaway, and we hope we get to do it again next year!
After we played at Lava, we headed up to my sisters house in Ucon, ID. Ucon is located just north of Idaho Falls. My sister was involved with planning some of the activities for Ucon Founders Day, which was going to be held on the Saturday that we were going to be there. So we stayed pretty busy on Saturday with all the activities going on that day. It started out with a 5k Race Saturday morning at 7:30 AM. I ran the 3.1 mile race in 26:33 and I was the 2nd female finisher. It was a fun race. It was fun to be there with my sister and her friends that ran the race too. After the race, we ran home and grabbed the kids for the 1 mile fun run/ride. Carson was so excited to ride his bike in the race! He did a great job and was one of the first bicyclists back.

That is Carson on the sidewalk racing with the little boy on the street.
He was even more excited to have some chocolate milk when he was done!
My nephew Braydon was the first kid back and won the Fun Run....he did great!!! He is a great runner and he plays football and baseball too, and from what I hear, he is quite an outstanding athlete! Once we got home and got all cleaned up from running, we packed the kids up again and headed back over to the park for a day of fun.
They had all sorts of games and carnival activities and even a bounce house!

They even had farm animals for the kids to see and pet!

The kids loved the train ride the best! In fact, the guy that was driving the four wheeler had to leave at 12:30, so some how Nick got the job of driving the four wheeler and spent the rest of the day driving the train around! I don't think he minded one bit!
Carson loved it since he got to drive on the four wheeler with Dad. Braydon also got to take a turn driving the four wheeler. Again, I don't think they minded helping out one bit!
They had a yummy BBQ pork dinner that night, catered by Frontier Pies. They needed just a few extra hands to help serve over 400 people, so I offered to help, since my sister was the one in charge of the dinner, and got to scoop up the potato salad. It wasn't bad, other than standing in the sun for most of the time! After the dinner rushed slowed down and Nick ate, he came over and relieved me so I could eat dinner.
It was a fun evening! My parents had gone to Rigby to the Christensen Family Reunion, so they stopped by for dinner on the way home, so we got to spend some time with them too!
It was a long but very fun day! All of us got a bit of sun and we didn't stay up very late once we got back to my sisters house since we were all too tired to do anything else but go to bed! We got up on Sunday and went to Church with my sister before heading back to Utah. We stopped in Tremonton and had dinner with my parents and played a hand of cards before finally making it home Sunday evening. It was a great weekend and I am so glad we were able to spend some time with my amazing sister and her wonderful family! I wished both of my sisters lived closer, but we sure have fun when we do get together!! Thanks again Marisa for all the food, fun, and hospitality!!! We love you!
The Summer is almost over and Carson will be starting school soon, so we thought we had better take the chance to play just a little bit more before it is too late! So Nicholas and I took the kids up to Lava Hot Springs in Idaho to play! It is about 10 Min East of McCammon, right off I-15 on your way to Pocatello. We met my Sister and her family and my mom there. Both Marisa's hubby and my Dad had to work, we missed them tons! If you haven't ever been to Lava, it is a pretty fun place. They have a HUGE pool with water slides and Olympic size diving boards and platforms that people can jump off of. When we were little, my sisters and I would attend swim camps here in the summer time. We would camp next door to the pool and in our time off we would play in the hot pots and go tubing down the river that runs through the town. It was such a great child hood memory, so it was fun taking my kids to Lava! Here are some pictures from our day there.

The two little girls spent more time eating Cheetos and Doritos than swimming I think and they were pretty orange when they were done!
We had a blast! It was a busy day and we had to park at the very end of the parking row to find a spot. Kaylee insisted that she carry a half full gallon of water to the van. Which she did. Along with her own bottle of water and a roll she was trying to eat. That girl is so determined and once she makes up her mind about doing something, she will do it! I guess that is a good characteristic to have, but it can be very frustrating sometimes as her mom!
We can't wait to go again! It will be super fun when the kids are old enough to take tubing down the river! That will be a blast!
