Father & Sons Camp Out

Yesterday Nick and Carson got all packed up to go camping at the Father & Son's Ward Camp out. The camp out was held at Petersen Park in Tremonton, of all places! Carson was so excited to go camping, it was all he talked about for a week! On Friday morning, Carson woke up with a slight fever and so I kept him home from school, which was supposed to be a water party since it is the end of the year. So as the day went on his fever broke and he acted normal so when Nick got home from work, we decided they could still go to the camp out. So they loaded up the van with their camping gear and 7 dutch ovens they borrowed from ward members to help make breakfast in the morning.
Kaylee was right along side them helping them pack. She was pretty disappointed when Dad told her she couldn't go. But he promised to take her camping next weekend when we go to the Bennett Family Reunion in Holden, but she still had a fit when they left!
They made it up to Tremonton at 5:30 and stopped at Pizza Plus for some breadsticks. They decided to eat that instead of making tin foil dinners. Much easier and very yummy!!! They found the perfect spot for the tent and got it all set up. A little after that, Gma and Gpa Brower and Uncle Chris showed up to say hi! Carson wasn't feeling very good at this point and wouldn't come out of the tent for the picture!
Nick called me around 8 and told me that Carson was asleep in the tent and had a fever again. I felt so sad for him! I thought that he was over what ever illness he had the night before, but apparently not! But he still slept good through the night, his fever broke, and was up at 6 AM telling dad to get up and start the fire for breakfast! Carson was feeling much better at this point and so after breakfast they had fun launching 2 liter bottles with a water rocket launcher.
One of the first things Carson told me when he got home today was how he fell down when he launched the bottles, so I was happy to see Nick got a picture of it! Carson thought it was pretty funny!

Despite it raining all night long and Carson getting sick, they still had a blast and Carson loved it! It was fun having it up in Tremonton! I know Carson thought it was pretty neat seeing them come visit at the camp site, even though he wasn't feeling well! We can't wait to get some more camping in this summer, but this time with the WHOLE family!
