Ucon Founders Day
After we played at Lava, we headed up to my sisters house in Ucon, ID. Ucon is located just north of Idaho Falls. My sister was involved with planning some of the activities for Ucon Founders Day, which was going to be held on the Saturday that we were going to be there. So we stayed pretty busy on Saturday with all the activities going on that day. It started out with a 5k Race Saturday morning at 7:30 AM. I ran the 3.1 mile race in 26:33 and I was the 2nd female finisher. It was a fun race. It was fun to be there with my sister and her friends that ran the race too. After the race, we ran home and grabbed the kids for the 1 mile fun run/ride. Carson was so excited to ride his bike in the race! He did a great job and was one of the first bicyclists back.

That is Carson on the sidewalk racing with the little boy on the street.
He was even more excited to have some chocolate milk when he was done!
My nephew Braydon was the first kid back and won the Fun Run....he did great!!! He is a great runner and he plays football and baseball too, and from what I hear, he is quite an outstanding athlete! Once we got home and got all cleaned up from running, we packed the kids up again and headed back over to the park for a day of fun.
They had all sorts of games and carnival activities and even a bounce house!

They even had farm animals for the kids to see and pet!

The kids loved the train ride the best! In fact, the guy that was driving the four wheeler had to leave at 12:30, so some how Nick got the job of driving the four wheeler and spent the rest of the day driving the train around! I don't think he minded one bit!
Carson loved it since he got to drive on the four wheeler with Dad. Braydon also got to take a turn driving the four wheeler. Again, I don't think they minded helping out one bit!
They had a yummy BBQ pork dinner that night, catered by Frontier Pies. They needed just a few extra hands to help serve over 400 people, so I offered to help, since my sister was the one in charge of the dinner, and got to scoop up the potato salad. It wasn't bad, other than standing in the sun for most of the time! After the dinner rushed slowed down and Nick ate, he came over and relieved me so I could eat dinner.
It was a fun evening! My parents had gone to Rigby to the Christensen Family Reunion, so they stopped by for dinner on the way home, so we got to spend some time with them too!
It was a long but very fun day! All of us got a bit of sun and we didn't stay up very late once we got back to my sisters house since we were all too tired to do anything else but go to bed! We got up on Sunday and went to Church with my sister before heading back to Utah. We stopped in Tremonton and had dinner with my parents and played a hand of cards before finally making it home Sunday evening. It was a great weekend and I am so glad we were able to spend some time with my amazing sister and her wonderful family! I wished both of my sisters lived closer, but we sure have fun when we do get together!! Thanks again Marisa for all the food, fun, and hospitality!!! We love you!
