A New Knee

This is my Grandma. Grandma Ruth Edstrom.

She had surgery last week to replace her knee that has been bothering her for sometime now.
The boys went to a friends house for a sleepover Friday night and so Justin and I took the girls and decided to go pay Grandma a visit before she left the hospital. My Aunt Lorie was there also and so we spent some time visiting with both of them.

She was having a good day the day we visited. The previous day, though, was rough on her. Her blood sugar levels had dropped and really messed up her blood pressure. She didn't feel good until they gave her 2 pints(?) of blood. She said that she was actually up and walking some the day we had come.

My aunt told me that Grandma was actually the first one at EIRMC to have a signature knee replacement. Signature, meaning custom made knee. They did up molds of her knee and made a new knee that fits her body just like her old one would have fit. She's hoping that she's back to herself in the next few weeks. It could be a few months before she's out skiing again though (ha, ha).

We're glad we live close enough to Grandma Edstrom to see her more often though.

Love you Grandma!!!
