Happy Father's Day!

Yesterday we enjoyed a wonderful Father's Day! Too bad Nick had to get up early for a scout meeting, or else we were going to make him a special breakfast, but it just didn't work out. So after he came home the kids were excited to give him his presents. (We don't have church until 1, and so we spend most of the morning and afternoon in our PJ's until we have to get dressed....so that explains why the kids are still in their pj's!).
The kids had so much fun not only wrapping up his gifts, but also making crafts out of the wrapping paper to give to dad.
Nick got some clothes and a new aluminum wallet! We also ordered a receiver for the van so we can tow things with it. I think he will like that the best! We all went to church and enjoyed some wonderful lessons about Missionary Work. After we got home we got ready for dinner! Nick requested dutch oven and potatoes for dinner, which was great with me since he would have to do the cooking! It rained and poured all morning, so we had to cook in the garage. But it worked great! The kids enjoyed riding their bikes around while the food cooked and we waited for the rest of the family to show up. Matt, Natalie, Hallie, Gma and Gpa Brower came and joined us for dinner. Hallie is so cute and loved licking the butter off of the roll...not eating the roll! It was funny!
We made chocolate dipped strawberries for dessert and I had some help cleaning the bowl when we were done!
It was a super yummy dinner!!!!!
Then it was gift time for grandpa which was the funnest part of the evening. After a few gifts from all of us it was time for a special gift from Matt & Nat.
They gave him a book, and inside was a picture of an ultra sound that said Happy Fathers day. When mom first saw it she said, "Oh, look...someone has a picture of an ultra sound 'Happy Father's Day'", and then dad took the picture out and that is when it clicked for mom that Matt & Natalie were announcing they were pregnant. She totally freaked out and started screaming. It was hilarious! We have it on video and we watched it over and over because it was hilarious!
So Hallie is going to be a Big Sister!!! Natalie is due January 11th, 2012. We are all so excited!
It was a fun time with my family and we even played a game of Knock your Neighbor before everyone left.
It was a great day and I am so lucky to not only have a great dad myself but also a wonderful husband who is a great father to our kids! I love you both SO much! Thanks for all you do!
