Krista was able to come with us and we enjoyed the afternoon playing on bounce houses, slides, going fishing, and eating a snow cone!
Carson got a car and Kaylee got a necklace from the fish pond.
After Nick got home from working overtime, we had homemade pizza for dinner and then headed up to Main Street to watch the parade. I went at 8:30 that morning to save us a spot, and after driving up and down it twice, I found a spot perfect for three chairs! We were on the east side of the street, so not in the shade, but luckily we had our new canopy to keep us somewhat shaded from the hot sun!
The kids loved the parade! The UHP Motorcycles were quite exciting that night! We were watching them and as they were doing a criss cross maneuver one of the HP's was going down the middle of the formation very fast, and ended up colliding with a motorcycle and then shooting off into the crowd on the side of the street. It happened right in front of us and was pretty scary. But Carson said that was his favorite part. There were no serious injuries luckily, but it was still a little scary to watch. But the parade continued and after 2 1/2 hours and a bag full of candy later, it finally came to an end. 
The kids got so much candy, toys, water bottles, otter pops, and we even got a glass slipper for Kaylee!
It was 8:30 when we got done watching the parade. We headed home, bathed the kids, and then headed up by Mueller Park Jr High to watch the fireworks. A friend that Nick works with lives right across the street from the school, so we were able to park in his driveway and have our own little private lawn and area to watch the fireworks from. The fireworks were great! They were so close to us that they were right above our heads and very loud! The kids stayed awake the whole time! I was impressed!
It was a very long, tiring, but FUN day!! Can't wait to do it again next year!
